breakfast. at roxies in freemont. perfect. we discussed the fact that if stacey were to work there she would need a tattoo or piercing of some kind...
my thoughts on the snow: it brings people together. isn't it weird that in the face of horrid weather, people find common ground? see each other. talk to each other. help each other. i find it intriguing that when things get worse, we start to see humanity rising above it all. it is as if people need a push. our normal, everyday lives don't move us enough to step outside of ourselves. when we see others stuck, we have compassion. i have seen so many people getting out of their cars to help others out of the snow. so many conversations sparked by the light of this flaky white stuff falling from the sky. perhaps it is just the shock of it all. perhaps i am just imagining it all. but perhaps this is just the shock we need. a shock to bring us face to face with each other. to help us SEE our neighbor. to help us STOP our busy lives and realize there are more important things. i relish times like these. i want to always know what it means to live; to know why i am here. i guess all i am saying is it is nice to have the reminder. it might be annoying and inconvenient, but maybe we need that force to help save ourselves. maybe in the act of helping the other, we are being helped.
sorry if this isn't enough about breakfast/food.
